Astrology and Health
The cycles of the Moon and your physical health and well-being are very connected.
The Moon reflects rhythms of energy.
Your Moon sign is a very sensitive place in your chart. The Moon rules your emotions. The child within you. It is the needy part of you that comes into this world. Without someone taking care of you and feeding you and clothing you and caring for you, you wouldn’t survive.
The Moon sign in your chart is very important. You have a Moon return every 28-29 days when your Moon comes back to the place it was when you were born.
You have a Sun birthday once a year when the Sun comes back to the place it was when you were born.
Knowing where your Moon is in your chart is extremely important as the Moon changes sign every 2 and a half days. It is much more sensitive than the Sun which changes sign approximately every 30 days.
The Father of Medicine, Hippocrates said:
Anyone who practices medicine without taking into the account the positions of the stars is a fool.
We are inextricably connected to the planets and stars around us.
The tides, the weather, when to have surgery, when to plant crops, when to cut your hair…. Astrologically, there are better times and times that are less favourable.
Why is it that at certain times surgeries go very well? and other times when the healing process is much slower? Often it can be due to the phases of the Moon.
Approximately, every 2 weeks we have a New Moon and a Full Moon.
These are two significant points in the month.
The NEW MOON is filled with opportunities for new beginnings.
The FULL MOON is a time of completions and fruition.
The NEW MOON and FULL MOON are good times to consume less. Sometimes people fast or have just liquids. It is a good time to put less load on your digestive system generally at these pivotal times. You might save yourself from infections or ups and downs with your health during the other times of the month.
WAXING MOON
Expanding Moon.
WANING MOON
Getting smaller.
WAXING MOON is good for strengthening the body, building yourself up, absorbing vitamins and minerals. It is not the best time to lose weight. You can eat the same amount of food and still put on weight. It is not the best time to start a diet. Good time for rebuilding yourself. It is not the best time to have surgery.
WANING MOON is the best time for detoxifying, losing weight, having surgery, less pain, scarring, bleeding, faster healing.

Elective Surgery
If you can choose and it is not an emergency situation, here are three tips:
- Try not to do it when Mars is retrograde.
Mars rules surgeons and sharp instruments like scalpels - Try not to do it during a WAXING MOON
- Try not to do it whenever whichever body part is being operated on is in that signs. E.g. tonsils – not when Sun or Moon is in Taurus
e.g. eyes – avoid Aries time
e.g. heart – avoid Leo times
e.g. feet – avoid Pisces times
If you are going to do something strengthening which is NOT involving surgery or cutting, then it is a wonderful time to have a reflexology treatment when the Moon is in Pisces.
It is great to have a head massage when the Moon is in Aries.
I hope this information will help you to live constructively according to the rhythms of the Moon.
