New Moon in Aries – New Beginnings

On April 7th, we have a New Moon at 18 degrees Aries.

Only a few months after the Paris attacks, shockwaves resounded around the world with the explosions in Brussels airport and metro station. It’s not only Europe experiencing these atrocities, but many other countries too innocent lives are being lost.

What planetary aspects could be triggering all this unrest?

At the time of this New Moon, Uranus is conjunct the Sun and Moon and square to Pluto.

Pluto in Capricorn is all about keeping the status quo where banks are ‘too big to fail,’ and rescued even though they are bankrupt, where 1% of the people own 90% of the world’s wealth. Pluto is associated with the underworld and darkness.

Uranus in Aries, on the other hand, is all about freedom, people taking control of their own lives and breaking free from the controls of governments and authorities.

And gradually, this is happening. On YouTube, there are people who have millions of subscribers who could never have attracted such huge audiences before under the restrictive structures of the giant TV networks. Now, with the freedoms of the internet, people are finding their own voice, independent of the existing structures.

With 6 out of 10 planets in Fire signs, this is time to step out and to be yourself and to speak up for what is important to you.

The old Plutonian model of control is being questioned everywhere. For example, doctors used to be like gods. They would prescribe medications or a course of treatment and like lambs, people would obey their instructions. Now, with Uranus in Aries, people are not conforming, they are finding new solutions for themselves.

Structures are crumbling and there’s a strong desire for a new start playing out in US politics. Who would have thought that Donald Trump would be a forerunner for the Republican nomination when I posted my video about him 6 months ago?

Why are people voting for him?

Nassim Taleb, author of The Black Swan, states:
‘People are not voting for Trump (or Sanders). People are just voting, finally, to destroy the establishment.’

Aries is a very physical sign. Venus is in Aries encouraging you to LOVE YOUR BODY.What does your body want? When I think of Aries, I think of taking a risk, being courageous and brave.

I was so uncertain about posting my last video about the Lunar Eclipse in Libra. Time and again, I looked at it and I wasn’t sure. Then I decided to throw caution to the wind, and to trust my intuitive voice telling me to ‘JUST DO IT!’ And the same is true of the video for this New Moon, and yet again, quaking in my boots, I posted it!

What can you do at the time of this New Moon that stirs you up and exhilarates you at the same time?

Lunar Eclipse in Libra – Do You Love Me?

On March 23rd, we have a powerful Full Moon Lunar Eclipse at 3 degrees 17 minutes Libra. With the Sun opposite the Moon, this is an important time to look at your relationships.

Libra is the sign of marriage, partnerships and relationships in general. With several planets in Aries, this Lunar Eclipse encourages you to look at the relationship you have with yourself.

Many of you have commented about my new hairdo, most in a positive way. However, one person said that it made me ‘look like an old lesbian.’ This shows me that I am never ever going to please everyone.

Libra is always seeking balance and tends to contort itself in order to keep the peace and to make other people happy, often leaving themselves out of the equation.

With the Sun, Mercury and Uranus in Aries, it’s time to wake up to who you are, to learn how to be comfortable in your own skin.

I had some professional photos done last week and the photographer wanted to whiten my teeth, take out my wrinkles and make me look like a younger Barbara. I told him NO! I am happy the way I am.

Are you happy and thankful for the way you are?

After colouring my hair for many years, keeping it at shoulder length because ‘other people’ thought that was best for me, wearing ‘proper’ clothes to present my videos, Uranus in Aries gave me the wake-up call to do what I want to do, what works for me.

Is there anything about the way you present yourself that you want to change? With all this Aries energy in the heavens, this is the perfect time to throw caution to the wind, to take a risk and to break out of old patterns that have had you pleasing others and not yourself.

With Venus square to Saturn at the time of this Lunar Eclipse, there can be a tendency to find fault with yourself. For example, ‘I’m not good enough, ‘I should have done it differently’ etc.

If Venus is conjunct, square or opposite Saturn in your natal chart, chances are you didn’t feel very nurtured and you have had disappointments in love.

This eclipse gives you the opportunity to nurture and to love yourself. 

LIBRA whose ruler is Venus, is all about beauty.

Judi Dench, world-renowned actress who I greatly admire, is now in her 80’s, and to me, she looks beautiful.

Don’t forget that old things can be very valuable and  beautiful. For example, a Stradivarius violin made in the 17th century can fetch millions of dollars in auction.

Can you come up with at least three things that you find beautiful about yourself?

Libra tends to look for other people’s approval. Since I have become less and less attached to wanting others to like me, Wayne Dyer’s quote comes to mind:

‘People who want the most approval get the least and the people who need approval the least get the most.’

In education we are constantly comparing ourselves to others. She beat me in Maths, I did better than him at History………but really, you are unique. There will never be anyone like you again. So can you love yourself exactly the way you are?

Aquarius New Moon February 8th 2016 – Reinvent Yourself

 

 


Whenever I think of Aquarius, I think of someone who is different, who doesn’t follow the crowd and who doesn’t mind saying what they think – popular or not.

Aquarius is all about the unfamiliar, the unpredictable, the unknown. The New Moon is always an opportunity for a new beginning, but for something to be truly new, it has to be unexpected. We get bored with the status quo and yet we fear change. How about making a conscious effort to observe where you feel stuck and proactively encourage yourself to make changes?

This is the challenge of the New Moon in Aquarius. 

 

David Bowie, who had Aquarius rising said:

‘If you feel safe in the area you’re working in, you’re not working in the right area. Always go a little further into the water than you feel you’re capable of being in. Go a little bit out of your depth. And when you don’t feel that your feet are quite touching the bottom, you’re just about in the right place to do something exciting.’

Every single time I put out a new video, I am always a little nervous and excited. Will you like it? Will it get lots of dislikes as my David Bowie video did? The same with every newsletter. I always want to come up with something new and interesting, otherwise, with all the other competition out there for your attention, you’ll soon stop reading…….

What are you doing to keep on reinventing and renewing yourself?

This week, in preparation for the New Moon, I have been observing how many things I do out of habit that are completely unconscious. For example, eating. I tend to sit in the same seat, hold my cutlery in the same way, eat without stopping for breath in between………..

So I have forced myself out of this little comfort zone to eat in different parts of the apartment, to eat on the floor, to be completely immersed and focused on the act of eating, to make ooohing and aaaahing noises when I am really enjoying a tasty morsel, and last but certainly not least, I gave myself permission to eat an entire meal with my fingers!!! My father (had he been alive) would have been quite disgusted, but he’s been gone for nearly 20 years and yet I still find myself abiding by what he considered appropriate behaviour.

What can you do that is different? What new choices can you make?

I have chosen to become left-handed after nearly 60 years of being right-handed. I am aware that this is creating new connections in my brain and is enabling me to be more creative and come up with new and interesting ideas.

Look carefully at your life, especially the areas where you’re feeling bored or uninspired, or areas where you’re feeling stuck, and see whether or not you are doing the same thing over and over again and expecting or hoping for a different result.

Aquarius is an Air sign and all the Air signs are concerned with mental activity. Your mind is extremely powerful and when you begin to think differently, you can change your health, your finances, your relationships, everything.

Mars is square to this New Moon in Aquarius This can bring frustrations and angry outbursts, OR it can give you the ability to accomplish anything to set your mind to do.  Set a clear intention to utilise this energy to your advantage. 

I mentioned three famous people in my last newsletter: Oprah Winfrey, Ellen Degeneres and Eckhart Tolle, all of whom I have later found out are Aquarians!! They are not particularly ‘traditional beauties,’ but by being themselves, they have attracted huge worldwide audiences.      

Maybe you think you look a bit odd sometimes, but often strange-looking animals and people are quite adorable! Try seeing all your idiosyncrasies in a new light.

New Moon, New Year, New Beginnings

 


Happy New Year! With the Capricorn New Moon on January 9th, this is the perfect time to set new intentions for your year ahead. 

Have you been rushing around, trying to accomplish too many things and finding you are spinning your wheels?

Have you felt lethargic and unable to focus on anything?

As Capricorn rules time, this New Moon gives you a great opportunity to reassess how you use your time and energy.  

With Mercury retrograde during most of January, don’t be surprised if people you haven’t been in touch with for a long time reappear.

I had been estranged from a couple of very dear family members just before I went to New Zealand almost a decade ago. There was no real fall-out, but a general distancing of the relationship which once was so very close.

Imagine my great joy and surprise when I received an email from my dear Auntie who is 93 years old and still living together with her husband who is 95 years old, saying she had just seen one of my YouTube videos and she loves my blonde hair and is sending me her love.

 

I called her straight away. We had the most loving, caring conversation and picked up easily from where we left off. When I am next in Manchester, I will go and visit them. I wanted to apologise to her for our rift, but she reminded me of Love Story telling me that love was never having to say you are sorry.

Is there anyone precious from your past that you’d like to see again? This is the time to set clear intentions.  

 

This Mercury retrograde is aspecting Pluto wanting you to dive more deeply into yourself. Ask yourself those difficult questions: Why am I here? How can I give my life more meaning? Am I doing what I love and if not, why not?

Your astrology chart shows the talents you are born with and I am frequently astonished how many clients I see who have magnificent gifts in their charts are not finding ways to pursue their heart’s desire.

What wonderful goodies lie hidden inside of you that you have yet to discover??

Jupiter into Virgo – Change of Fortune

Jupiter, planet of good fortune, wealth and abundance changes signs once a year. It goes into Virgo on August 11th 2015 and will stay there until September 9th 2016.

If you have Sun, Moon, Ascendant or any planets in Virgo, Jupiter will offer you new opportunities for growth, expansion and change. Happy Healthy Jupiter into Virgo!

Cancer New Moon, July 15th / 16th 2015

On July 16th, we have a New Moon in Cancer at 23 degrees 14 minutes.  
With four planets in Cancer, including Mercury and Mars opposite Pluto, this is likely to be a very explosive time. 

Cancer is all about security, safety, home, country. We are seeing increasing tensions worldwide as peoples’ security is being threatened. 

In Greece, banks are still closed despite promises that they would reopen this week. Capital controls are in place with no one allowed to take out more than 60 Euros a day. Many ATM machines have no cash at all. Pensioners are fighting to get a pittance to live on. Tempers are fraying and tensions are building.
In China, stock markets have fallen over 30% in less than 3 weeks. Regulators have enforced a ban on selling stocks for the next 6 months in a desperate attempt to control the markets. 
Sneakily and stealthily, governments are bringing in laws allowing banks to steal our hard-earned cash.

 

As Pluto retrogrades towards 13 degrees of Capricorn, which is a critical degree, it’s likely that we will see an escalation of draconian regulations and more restrictions on our freedoms.
The opposition of Mars conjunct Mercury with Pluto can spark violent words and actions.
I just opened up my Greek bank account and was given the following message: 
The following transactions are not available: 
– instant cash 
– remittances abroad 
– stock exchange transactions in Athens or internationally
The message is clear. The bank owns your money, not you. If they get into trouble, they can do whatever they want with your funds.
My landlord in Greece has told me to stop paying him any rent in advance because he doesn’t know if or when he can actually get the money. I was trying to help him by paying a couple of months rent early, but because of the current financial chaos in Greece I may not have been helping him at all.
Very few people realise that if the banks get into trouble – as they have done in Greece – they can just shut down with no notice, they can hold onto your money and in the most serious cases, they can confiscate it!!!
When a politician promises that something will not happen, the likelihood is that it will. Mr Tsipras has promised the Greek people that their bank deposits are safe. But are they?
President Obama has said that events in Greece will not cause a global economic crisis. He said that it is primarily of concern to Europe. But is it?
With the T square being triggered at the time of this New Moon and Uranus at the apex, chances are that this could be a wake-up call for many.

Here are a few things you may want to consider doing:
– get the bulk of your money out of the bank
– get some extra water, canned and dried foods
– stock up with any medications
– get some extra flashlights, batteries, candles
– if you have some spare cash buy some silver and gold

Keep in mind that when the world changes, there are also huge opportunities and vast amounts of money to be made for those that are ahead of the curve.

The great aspect that is at play during this New Moon is its trine with Saturn. This is the perfect time to examine your finances and to come up with a creative plan of action.
It is also a great time to find your ‘tribe.’ More and more of us are connecting through the internet with people who feel like our family, sometimes even more than our own blood relatives.
It is a time to help one another. Last week a 29 year old Londoner started a crowdfunding campaign to pay off Greece’s debt and within days he had raised over 2 million Euros. Sadly, it was nowhere near enough, but if we can work together and come up with Aquarian out of the box ideas, we can create miracles. 

Here’s my idea for today. Greece is the most beautiful country: great food, warm people, fabulous weather….and right now the Greeks need all the support they can get.
To encourage more tourists to visit this year, they are having a special sale on flights to the islands. I called them today and secured a flight to Crete for two people return from Athens airport for just 72 Euros! Even if I don’t end up going, this is a way to contribute to their economy.

Let’s work together! The internet gives us a unique opportunity to be a force for good in our world.
