Full Moon
Pisces Full Moon – Trust Your Instincts
On September 8th / 9th, we have a beautiful, mystical Pisces Full Moon at 16 degrees.
Two weeks ago, we had a New Moon in Virgo which was all about getting down to business, ticking things off your list, and being practical and productive. Pisces is just the opposite.
There are times when the planets are pushing us out there, especially the Fire and Air signs, but Pisces is a Water sign. Allow things to come to you.
Some of the greatest inventions were achieved when inventors were daydreaming. Einstein was reportedly dreaming that he was riding a sunbeam to the edge of the universe when he came upon his idea of the theory of relativity.
Isaac Newton was sitting in a field when he happened to notice an apple falling from a tree which led to his discovery of the laws of gravity.
Studies have shown that if you return to a task after taking a break you are much more likely to come up with a creative solution than if you keep on bashing away while getting more and more frustrated.
Think about the sign of Pisces: it’s two fish swimming in opposite directions.
Pisces hates to be pinned down. If you are in a relationship with a Pisces you will know that they don’t like to have firm commitments weeks ahead. They like to go with the flow. Something or someone very interesting may show up on the spur of the moment and if there are no fixed appointments, they are free to follow their instincts.
Pisces does feel the pain in this world so there is an urge to escape sometimes using drugs and alcohol. You can escape your everyday world in a constructive way. For example, lose yourself in a romantic movie, listen to soothing music that takes you into a different world.
Give yourself permission to do less, to take a nap, to relax, to access the answers from inside rather than looking outside yourself.
Good things to do during this Full Moon in Pisces:
-
Meditate and find the calm place within
-
Volunteer and help others
-
Get a massage or bodywork
-
Explore your intuition and your dreams
-
Visualise what you want for yourself and for the world
-
Do anything creative: dance, sing, paint, knit, sculpt…
-
Make a video, film or anything visual

Aquarius Full Moon is a Super Moon
On August 10th, we have a Super Full Moon in Aquarius at 18 degrees. It’s extra powerful because it is so close to the earth.
Uranus and Saturn.
During this Full Moon in Aquarius, think about where the balance between these two energies lies in your life.
It might be your relationships, your finances, your career, your family. Where do you need to break out from ‘normal’ expectations that are keeping you a prisoner? What can you do differently?
To quote Albert Einstein:
Since we are in the process of moving into the Age of Aquarius, this Full Moon could expose more of the polarities in our world. With one of Aquarius’ rulers Uranus, square to Pluto for at least another year, we are seeing more and more world unrest:
The war in the Middle East, airplanes disappearing, earthquakes, sinkholes appearing in the unlikeliest of places, riots, demonstrations……
People want freedom, and when they have been suppressed for too long, violence and eruptions ensue.
Whatever is going on in the outer world is in some way reflected inside of us.
Jupiter Changes Sign and Full Moon in Capricorn
- Look at how you manage your TIME. Work smarter and not harder.
- Examine your finances and look out for bargains.
- Take responsibility for everything: your health, work, relationships.
- Declutter – get rid of anything you no longer need or use.
- Make survival preparations e.g. store canned and dried goods, water, first-aid kit, electricity back-up, copies of important documents.
- Decide to do ONE thing at a time and complete it.
- Face anything unpleasant that you have been avoiding.
As it’s conjunct to Pluto, something deep may come up that you need to deal with. As it’s also square to Uranus you might feel nervous about taking a new step.
Let me share a personal example:
Whenever something breaks down or goes wrong, my knee-jerk reaction has always been to ask someone to help me. I might try to sort it out myself for a short while, but then give up if it got too hard.
Case in point: today the pilot light on my central heating boiler suddenly went out. There are several men in the house that I can usually call on who will come and sort it out. But nonetheless I got my ladder out and I did try for a few minutes to light it myself – to no avail. So off I went to find a man. No one was home except one who said he’d come by later on.
After waiting over an hour, I got so impatient when he didn’t show up that I decided I would persevere with it until I got the blooming thing to work. So out came the ladder again and I pressed that button so many times until finally the pilot light came on!! Yeah!!~ I did it by myself and I felt so empowered.
I realized that I gotten into the habit of giving up much too soon without forcing myself to go beyond my comfort zone.
Is there anywhere in your life where you are giving up too soon?
This Full Moon conjunct Pluto and square to Uranus wants you to pull something new out of the hat. Don’t allow fear to stop you. It’s quite amazing what we each have inside of us that is untapped. Now is the time to unearth it. We are stronger and more capable then each of us imagine.
